Shakespeare's
globe theatre
William Shakespeare built his "Globe Theatre" in London in 1599. Although Shakespeare did not travel outside of England, many of his plays were set in foreign countries. Hamlet in Denmark, Anthony and Cleopatra in Egypt, the Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet in Italy.

Shakespeare had 37 of his plays set in foreign countries and he named his playhouse "Globe Theatre." To continue in that spirt, Global Village Network has built a "Globe Theatre" dedicated to international films with subtitles.
